Aromatherapy with Essential Oil Diffusers: For Everyday Health and Wellness.
Whether you are a beginner or experienced with essential oils, this book is a great guide that will teach you how to therapeutically and safely use essential oils. Very well written, the book is divided into two parts for easy reference.
Part One gives a detailed history of aromatherapy. Different types of diffusers are described in detail, which will help you select the best diffuser for your needs. Diffusing can be done in many forms, not just with an essential oil diffuser. The pros and cons of each type of diffuser are laid out so you can make the best choice for your situation. Picking the right essential oils are also covered in part one. The characteristics and benefits of 64 essential oils are detailed. You will learn how to choose, safely blend and store your essential oils.
Part Two is arranged loosely into two sections. The first section reviews mental and emotional conditions, reproductive health conditions, respiratory health, skin health and other health conditions, which can all be helped by essential oils. The second part outlines how to use essential oils to enhance your environment.
For each health condition, there is a short description of the condition, a recipe to blend the proper essential oils in the right ratio and directions on how to diffuse the blend for the most therapeutic effect. This book contains instructions and recipes to create over 160 specialized oil blends. Some of these specialized oils blends can be turned into topical treatments.
The section on enhancing your environment with essential oils is an extension of overall health and well being. You are only as healthy as the environment you live in. You will find recipes for safe and effective cleaning products, reducing mold and mildew, getting rid of odors, pest control and destressing your space.
As an experienced essential oil user, I still found this book to be a helpful reference guide. The book was easy to read and arranged in a logical manner. The book does not need to be read from start to finish, rather it can be read as needed to address individual issues. Someone new to essential oils would greatly benefit from the information in this book. Karin Parramore has taken complex information and broken it down into easy to understand and follow instructions. I will definitely be using this book as a reference in the future.
