Use this week to prepare for the vibrant spring ahead. Let’s clean our flowerbeds and rake the yard, rake our emotional issues and political secrets out of the corners and send them to the compost. Clear the ground, study, restock, complete work of the mind, body, and soul.
If we’re honest with ourselves, we probably know what we need to do this coming season, if not exactly how or where. The recent Uranus-Mars aspects and eclipse series did its best to shake us loose, wake us up, and let us know what we need to deal with the next.
Though this will probably be a busy week, we may feel that end of winter, Sun in Pisces, low energy, so let’s pace ourselves. Energizing Mars has just moved into steady Taurus which gives us more physical endurance than enthusiasm. Even though Venus retrograde in Aries keeps our hearts volatile we still need time to replenish in the dream world and let our psyches integrate all that’s been going on.
The Moon enters industrious Virgo for the weekend and reminds us to get our work done. Mental Mercury squares serious Saturn this weekend and lets our mind perseverate and worry a pattern which is compounded by a full Moon in introspective, edgy Virgo. Turn this mental activity towards learning, studying, solving a problem, or reading a complicated book to keep it from degenerating into anxiety. Use those mental muscles in a good way so they don’t just spin in circles.
When Mercury enters brash Aries on Monday a we’ll jump to conclusion more easily and grow more verbally impetuous, tweet first and think later. While this trait can be fun at the beginning of the week under a sociable generous Moon in Libra, on Wednesday the Moon enters more irascible, less charitable Scorpio and opposes Mars, and that lack of impulse control can sharpen spears. We can choose to be incisive, not mean.
Which takes us back to our gardening metaphor for advice on this last full week before spring begins. We need to stir the compost, clear the ground, and prepare, but we don’t need to blow up the garden. It is also important to see what is already growing in our life’s garden, from the seeds and bulbs already planted. Don’t just worry about the crops or fuss at unexpected vines strangling your tree, get on with the work at hand. Weed those problems and fertilize the healthy growth to be busy and nourished in this complicated year ahead.
Friday, March 10: Feel the pull to over-dramatize just to express what we feel this morning; acknowledge conflicting feelings without the soap opera. Midday, look for successful meetings that promote dynamic change as the Moon forms a grand trine with Uranus and Saturn. Our energy begins to flag and our thoughts grow more serious as the Moon enters Virgo around 3 PM, we can get persnickety if we’re feeling overextended or worried, but a great conversation that lets us analyze and process will bring us back alive.
Moon trine Uranus 1:41 AM, Moon trine Saturn 10:05 AM, Moon enters Virgo 3:07 PM, Moon trine Mars 4:21 PM.
Saturday, March 11: The mood winds up and can leave us feeling overwhelmed by all the details as our minds try to encompass too many different threads, or while imagine worse case scenarios while the Virgo Moon opposes Neptune. And if we go there, we can take it out on one another as a way of dispersing anxiety. Or we can choose to drop beneath this mental static and open our empathy and compassion for one another, learn a new concept or take on one project at a time and feel like we’re getting somewhere. It’s up to us which side of this Virgo nerviness we exercise.
Moon opposed Neptune 1:07 PM.
Sunday, March 12: Our minds and guts can bunch up in a knot unless we give them something worthy to chew upon as Mercury squares Saturn under the Full Moon in Virgo. But if we do, the internal wheels can grind efficiently, and we begin to put pieces together to grow our understanding. Transportation delays can add to a low-level frustration, so keep the schedule loose, and keep one another informed. We take communication seriously, as a culture we may be holding the press accountable and investigating all forms of information exchange. We have access to strategic thinking but can get cranky if we’re overtired. Late evening smooths out as the Moon enters Libra.
Moon trine Pluto 1:56 AM, Mercury square Saturn 6:09 AM, Moon opposed son 8:53 AM, Moon square Saturn 6:24 PM, Moon opposed Mercury 8:36 PM, Moon enters Libra 11:28 PM.
Monday, March 13: It can be a relief to get back to work this morning after a complicated weekend People need a little tender loving care and reassurance; do not tap dance on their insecurities. Our minds speed up and the filters may come off our conversation as Mercury enters Aries and injects cosmic caffeine later in the day. If we feel a longing, let’s ask what do they symbolize life and how much we want that within us in our hearts. Rather than become demanding tonight, let’s ask what our longing symbolize.
Mercury enters Aries 3:07 PM, Moon opposes Venus 8:41 PM
Tuesday, March 14: Relationships come to the forefront, some event can trigger our realization of who’s precious and who’s full of it, which allows us to sort and process. Though we may feel someone that we need someone more than we actually do. Look for an opportunity to open up this afternoon as the Moon conjunct Jupiter, watch this conjunction rise as the Sun sets and let it soothe the heart.
Moon square Pluto 11:51 AM, Moon conjunct Jupiter 3:51 PM, Moon opposed Uranus 7:04 PM.
Wednesday, March 15: It will stabilize us to focus on logistics this pragmatically efficient but emotionally stormy day as the Moon enters serious Scorpio this morning and opposes volatile Mars this afternoon. That outspoken Mercury in Aries can grow claws, and anything we say can come out sharper than we intend. Our impulse control is down, our verbal filter is thin, but we can concentrate or obsess. Investigate, write invective, write political commentary, advocate for what’s needed, but consider avoiding crowded intersections and emotionally demanding situations. Walk away from unnecessary confrontations.
Moon sextile Saturn 4:05 AM, Moon enters Scorpio 9:10 AM, Moon opposed Mars 5:37 PM.
Thursday, March 16: Let’s pace ourselves and restore physical reserves that have been recently burnt up. Our energy can swirl inwards even though our mind is racing ahead. If people are guarded, prickly, don’t take it personally. We need our shields while our intuition is so strong: listen in subtle ways to the body, to beloveds. Listen to sudden hunches about work, and follow up with fact-finding.

Rationality, steady accomplishment, endurance, patience; this may not sound like a warm and fuzzy holiday attitude, but these handy attributes are offered to us as the Sun conjuncts serious Saturn, sextiles hopeful Jupiter, and trines restless Uranus this week. With this line-up we can feel terribly serious, concerned, or with heavy spirits, which may be a totally appropriate attitude towards the world these days, but that Saturnine endurance and Uranian curiosity are also in there, and positively trine, and they can see us through. We just have to reach for it.
Because the Sun so active this week we may be dealt a wild card; big things can happen for better or worse, a surprising relief or a fresh call to action. Look for more clues to this year’s agenda on both a personal and political level. That trine between Saturn and Uranus ripples in so many directions for the next few months; Saturn can give form to the Uranian changes, but we see those changes could move into a saturnine direction; conservative, restrictive, and potentially threadbare. We can turn it around with effort, and add Uranian change to saturnine structures if we have vision and persistence.
We can easily feel low-energy and need hibernate this week, our seasonal moodiness can get worse if we feel useless or ineffectual as Mercury in Capricorn approaches a conjunction with Pluto and slows down to retrograde on December 19. With Mercury already in its shadow, we can notice technical snafus, wiring problems and those lapses in understanding beginning to accrue. It furthers to have something constructive to do, a person to help, a group to work with and cheer each other on. If the world turns grey let’s take care of our mood and not listen to the stories our fears may whisper, as these are not reliable. Instead, hold hearts gently, and do one thing that makes life better, for ourselves or for someone else.
As that Mercury sextiles intuitive Neptune this weekend we need to choose carefully how we use our imagination; if we don’t like the future we see, let’s not vote for that reality with our imagination, as astro-cohort Caroline Casey says, but instead ask ourselves what would make things better. Then daydream and act upon that. We can also feel unusually fed by Neptunian gifts like prayer, meditation, music, good company, and the magic of the season, and will enjoy it best when we can get all of them together.
An Aries Moon on Friday brings out our inner impatient rebel, though we can rebel from inertia and make positive changes, starting with our house. Throughout this week, if we slow down for too long, we could feel the mood gremlins tug at our sleeves.
A Taurus Moon over the weekend helps us make more comfortable choices. Early next week the Moon waxes full in verbal Gemini, hovering over the charts of the president elect and his vice president, and too much will be said by all sides. But we can get the world out. It’s a great time engage in debate and to send packages, run errands, or travel.
A Cancer Moon brings a more personal, protective note on Wednesday, and it is time to domesticate, and take care of one another. If the moody mists roll in, reach for that strength and those good causes to connect the soul to purpose.
Friday, December 9: Early morning discouragement can put a burr under our saddle, but we can use this discontent to motivate and tackle a problem we’ve been avoiding. Midday brings room for a shift and a penitential twinkle to our eye as the Moon conjuncts Uranus and the Sun conjuncts Jupiter. Tonight, it furthers to break routine.
Moon square Pluto 6:52 AM, Moon trine son 9:58 AM, Moon opposed Jupiter 10:50 AM, Moon square Saturn 11:09 AM, Moon conjunct Uranus to 20 4 PM, Sun sextile Jupiter 2:39 PM, Moon sextile Mars 6:06 PM.
Saturday, December 10: Dreamland wants to hold in to us this morning at Mercury sextiles Neptune, we just have to watch a passive response as the Sun conjuncts Saturn, and do not feed the doldrums with our thoughts-we’ll feel better if we can find ways to create beauty, comfort, connection and safety, in whatever scale we can. Evening begins a welcoming flow between hearts if we can motivate to connect.
Mercury sextile Neptune 1:25 AM, Sun conjunct Saturn 4:51 AM, Moon enters Taurus 5:40 AM, Moon square Venus 11:37 AM, Moon sextile Neptune 8:51 PM, Moon trine Mercury 10:18.
Sunday, December 11: We need magic, a change in routine; we’re ready to make a difference as the Sun trines Uranus in fire signs, but may have trouble figuring out where. If we don’t have a clear and useful goal, we can find good people who are gathering for a purpose, and help. Feel the heart lighten with improvement and connection. Spend a moment organizing for the week ahead and create doable goals to keep the momentum moving.
Moon trine Pluto 7:54 AM, Moon square Mars 9:04 PM, Sun trine Uranus 11:56 PM.
Monday, December 12: It’s easier to do ten things than on: the Gemini Moon can rev up our nerves and words this morning and can leave us more scattered than focused. We need to talk, but can interrupt one another incessantly. Watch how anxiety and excitement are expressed; make sure the nervous energy goes in appropriate places, maybe Olympic-level multi-tasking, rather than splatter over one another.
Moon enters Gemini 5:41 AM, Moon trine Venus 3:22 PM, Moon square Neptune 8:30 PM.
Tuesday, December 13: This full Moon in Gemini can be pleasantly sociable in the right circumstances, or nervy and fracturing on another; it can be hard to integrate our thoughts as we notice our internal and cultural paradox. Snippets and sound bites highlight those internal conflicts. But, to our advantage we can pour this nervy energy into last minute tasks and tend to unfinished papers, and errands.
Moon trine Jupiter 11:24 AM, Moon opposed Saturn 12:03 PM, Moon sextile Uranus 2:17 PM, Moon opposed the Sun 5:05 PM, Moon trine Mars 10:57 PM.
Wednesday, Dec 14: The Moon enters Cancer and we want to go home. even, or especially, if we are not sure where that is. It’s a good day to reach out to displaced people and creatures, and to find ways to reconcile with biological and chosen family. Defenses run high, personalities are edgy, but we want to believe that good is possible.
Moon enters Cancer 5:08 AM, Moon trine Neptune 8:16 PM.
Thursday, December 15: The morning may feel tough, our inner conflicts uncomfortable and our thoughts chase after rabbits as the Moon opposes both Mercury and Pluto. If we dive deep, we can find gems of new understanding. Otherwise, we may just need to hold on to spirit and work this through. Feel a grip lessen and more options open midday as the Moon squares Jupiter and Uranus.

We conflagrate, our emotional reactions are spicy and volatile as the weekend begins with a contentious interaction between the Sun and moon, the Sun in Scorpio and Moon in Aries, both in sparky Mars-ruled signs. Expect teeth-gnashing and venting from all political and personal corners. The mood settles into a more determined groove, more ready to work towards our long -term goals, after Monday’s Full Moon in Taurus.
Over this next week we may feel inspired to try and work together towards a better world, but may be so ready to wrangle about our philosophies that it’s challenging to find a common thread. Feisty Mars is now in collective, theoretical Aquarius. Venus enters determined Capricorn on Saturday and encourages us to reconnect with old friends, work, or communities that once fed us. Together they help us, loaded with opinions (both Aquarius and Capricorn are opinionated, political, Saturn-ruled signs) as we may be, to organize and build new working partnerships.
Venus in Capricorn makes us want to love our work, though we may feel somewhat emotionally constrained by it, and it encourages us to put craft and discipline into our creative process. But it can also bring out a social climbing side, a desire to collect friends, or focus on our community at the expense of our more intimate relationships.
On Saturday Mercury enters outspoken Sagittarius, and here it can lift our spirits as it encourages us to be honest, open-minded, shoot from the hip and tell it like we really see. Sagittarius is the sign of the traveler- we hear from people far away and may think of moving to Zimbabwe. Mercury in Sagittarius can also scatter our thinking and get let us look at too many different approaches and have trouble focusing in on one thing at a time. But that may be just what we need for to expand our horizons.
This freedom-loving Sagittarius Mercury can help balance out the intense Scorpio morbidity and possessiveness, and we will need that balance during Monday’s earthy, stubborn, territorial Taurus Full Moon. Full Moons shine a light on our paradox and oppositions, on our differences within and without—but we need to remember we are truly both sides of the coin. This Fixed Sign Full Moon tempts us to feel stuck in our other-ness, to entrench our polarization and self-protection. Let’s ask instead how can we let it shine a light on the best of Taurus, on our ability to comfort and support one another, give each other safety.
We may feel a growing imagination and intuition but also feel fuzzyheaded or find it difficult to get our point across towards the end of the week as Mercury approaches a square to Neptune. Watch for water damage and check for misunderstandings or miscommunication if people’s reactions seem out of synch with our intentions. This aspect builds up our imagination and our paranoia, makes it hard to see the difference between our hopes, fears, and intuition, so let us stay in the present moment, and work towards a better future, but not even pretend we can see what is going to happen next.
Friday, November 11: We may feel twitchy and easily-irritated if our to-do list is too long and our desire to get away from it all tickles the back of our mind. Under this unusually volatile Aries Moon it pays to avoid situations where one has to wait, or deal with people whose views we find inflammatory, and put a five second lead on our commentary. If we stay conscious, we can build healthy boundaries. If we are caught off-guard, our spiked response can be formidable. Deal with one issue at a time rather than hold them all together, don’t let anyone put more on the plate this afternoon than already exists. Re-center tonight; think about what’s most important and drop the rest as Venus enters Capricorn.
Moon opposed Jupiter 4:45 PM, Moon square Pluto 8:08 PM, Moon trine Saturn 8:20 PM, Venus enters Capricorn 9:54 PM.
Saturday, November 12: Mercury enters Sagittarius this morning and brings a fresh honesty, after an unsettling or busy early morning energy drifts with sporadic bursts midday but focus returns after the waxing Moon enters Taurus this evening. The Moon trine’s Venus and it can feel good to be embodied; feed the senses, but keep clean boundaries.
Moon conjunct Uranus 5:44 AM, Mercury enters Sagittarius 7:39 AM, Moon enters Taurus 7:23 PM, Moon trine Venus 9:13 PM,
Sunday, November 13: A Stubborn Full Moon in Taurus this morning ramps up all of our human and biological needs and desires, ramps up our stubbornness, can polarize us, but can also help us plant our roots and appreciate the place we exist. Just don’t try to push or change anybody today. Enjoy a slow dance, move with the cycles midday, the energy may feel like a Sufi Zikr, spinning in place.
Moon square Mars 12:05 AM, Moon sextile Neptune 9:57 AM, Moon trine Pluto 6:45 PM.
Monday, November 14: We can get busy but have trouble actually accomplishing anything. Our minds are energized but maybe our bodies are not. We can feel that post full Moon energy let-down. Action picks up and the conversation gains traction tonight as the Moon enters Gemini.
Moon opposed Sun 6:52 AM, Moon enters Gemini 6:22 PM.
Tuesday, November 15: This can be a busy day, so let’s pace ourselves, juggle all the simmering parts, and not lose track of what’s important. Early morning fuzziness can create confusion; spirit is strong but our organization can be weak. Midday we gear up, become more decisive, snippy, and engage the conversation though we can get easily distracted as Mercury sextiles Mars. We slow down and simmer this evening as the Moon opposed Saturn; a more serious conversation returns to familiar topics and old concerns. Do not buy into the depressive edge, put one foot after the other instead.
Moon opposed Mercury 12:54 AM, Moon’s trine Mars 1:24 AM, Moon square Neptune 8:52 AM, Mercury sextile Mars 10:22 AM, Moon trine Jupiter 4:34 PM, Moon opposed Saturn 7:33 PM.
Wednesday, November 16: Morning is busy, but again we may talk over more than we actually accomplish. Old memories arise and distract us, unfinished wisps of karma target us. We have to track ourselves carefully if we need to accomplish anything in particular or finish a project. Tonight, we need to return to something cozy and familiar, we need a sense of safety as the Moon enters Cancer.
Moon sextile Uranus 50 7 AM, Moon enters Cancer 5:56 PM.
Thursday, November 17: Don’t be surprised of moments of social awkwardness as the Cancer Moon opposes Venus, our inner determination or discomfort can make us less diplomatic. Check for misunderstandings before feelings get hurt, as people tend to take things personally today. Reassurance and a sense of connection furthers.
Moon opposed Venus for 10 AM, Moon trine Neptune 9:04 AM, Moon square Jupiter 5:50 PM, Moon opposed Pluto 7:39 PM.

Tempers swirl with the winds, so we can expect blustering storms on the campaign trail, but don’t need to invite that attitude to our dinner table. Halloween approaches, the winds pick up and bring in the cool scent of autumn while the week’s astrology brings in challenge and charge. Let’s get grounded and ready to make the most of sudden opportunity hidden in the challenges.
The weekend starts under a wild and howl-worthy full Moon in Aries, a full Moon that brings out our inner adolescent, our desire to act out and rebel. Mercury opposes Pluto, and we see the power of words. We can also battle with our own discouragement and depression and may need a change of scene two clear our palette and come back to what truly matters to us.
This full Moon can turn up our temper and snappy comebacks. We speak out. It can also turn up our inner desires so we can’t ignore them, so we remember what lights our fires and gets us motivated, what gives us health and energy. A moment of spontaneity, a chance to hear our inner calling, can do us a world of good.
This need for authenticity and spontaneity continues as Venus leaves brooding, potentially resentful Scorpio and enters honest, outspoken Sagittarius on Sunday. While this Venus can help us forgive and find the humor in our situation, we’ll need this more relaxed, freewheeling Venus in Sagittarius to deal with an intense Mars-Pluto conjunction on Wednesday, a tempestuous aspect that can amp up our bravery, willfulness and won’t power. It can help us tackle a task, but it may cause some people just to tackle randomly, and engage in a fight for fight’s sake.
Life can take on a Star Wars quality, the (Mars-Pluto) force is with us, but will we use if for good, or for the dark side. This fresh determination comes at a time of questionable judgment as informative Mercury, arbiter of the consensus thinking process (and now in egalitarian Libra), opposes erratic, electrical Uranus next week and can shake things up. This opposition can bring shocking news or sudden irrational decisions, problems with electrics and transportation, and can also just make us generally nervous. Expect an escalation in the outrageous comments in this year’s political scene.
Now this combination of a full moon in impulsive Aries with Mars conjunct Pluto force as Mercury first squares Pluto and then opposes Uranus loaning erratic thinking and rationality could produce some truly volatile events. It can help us break out of a rut or reverse our opinions, but be wary of snap decisions. While most of us will direct this into positive channels and can make interesting changes in our lives, though we may have to negotiate a few small skirmishes, this lineup can fray already fractured psyches and add fuel to conflict already in the works.
And on a pragmatic level, storms of all types can break down infrastructure and make communication and travel difficult both over the weekend, and through Wednesday. If the bridge, road, or electrical wire looks sketchy, stay away.
So towards the end of the week, let’s keep our eyes on problematic tension points, take the time to think through our decisions and their logical outcomes, and use our willpower and force for good. And above all, stay safe.
Friday, October 14: Energy builds under a waxing Aries Moon, though we can use it to confront a problem rather than confront one another. We have energy and can concentrate on what interests us, but may have an unusually hard time dealing with rote or boring tasks. A levelheaded Mercury-Saturn sextile helps us direct this energy with sanity midday, though the Moon calls us to howl tonight. Make is safely wild night.
Moon trine Venus 1:13 AM, Moon enters Aries 9:08 AM, Mercury sextiles Saturn 12:46 PM, Moon opposed Jupiter 9:33 PM.
Saturday, October 15: This is a tricky and volatile full Moon, we can use the energy to accomplish and change if we harness our discontent constructively. Be kind to one another during a wave of depression or discouragement or worry this morning as the Moon opposes Mercury and both square Pluto. If feeling overwhelmed, break down the mass of problems and do just one thing to make a difference. And then another. Pour this energy into a one-time project and get it done. But don’t expect progress on the same old same old. See the problem clearly as thoughtful Mercury squares Pluto, but stay hopeful; consider staying away from volatile situations or be willing get in there and help. Think through the consequences before confronting or making long-term decisions.
Sun opposed Uranus 4:43 AM, Moon square Mars 4:54 AM, Moon trine Saturn 5:46 AM, Moon opposed Mercury 7:52 AM, Moon square Pluto 9:19 AM, Mercury square Pluto 8:29 PM, Moon conjunct Uranus 9:11 PM, Moon opposed Sun 10:23 PM.
Sunday, October 16: We can feel tired, overworked, like we’re crashing from five espressos this morning, because we are dealing with the post Full moon crash and the fallout of yesterday’s aspects. Make this a day of rest, grounding, healing, adjusting and adapting as the Moon enters earthy Taurus and brings us back to our bodies. We may feel the physical toll of recent efforts, our gardening our physical plants are nest and our bodies need attention.
Moon enters Taurus 9:04 AM.
Monday, October 17: We can be a little slower off the mark this morning, may want to indulge our senses and have a delicious breakfast first, particularly if we feel drained or overextended by the weekend. It’s good to stay grounded and embodied this week because so much is going on. The pressure of Mars as it approaches Pluto can push us and leave us depressed if we don’t feel momentum building. Volatile situations build up pressure. But if we can get the ball rolling, begin to move on our important work, we can feel the satisfaction of momentum building comfortably.
Moon sextile Neptune 12:07 AM, Moon trine Mars 6:39 AM, Moon trine Pluto 8:46 AM.
Tuesday, October 18: A burden lifts and energy shifts as Venus enters more upbeat Sagittarius and the Moon enters verbal Gemini. We can talk about what’s bothering us, communicate, file briefs and get the word out, and this can take some of the pressure. It furthers to communicate with diplomatic but radical honesty.
Venus enters Sagittarius 1:00 AM, Moon enters Gemini 8:29 AM, Moon opposed Venus9:09 AM, Moon trine Jupiter 10:10 PM, Moon square Neptune 10:46 PM.
Wednesday, October 19: Issues come to a head and declarations and decisions are made as Mars conjuncts Pluto in determined Capricorn. Watch out for pushy people, sidestep and diffuse where possible, save confrontations for the essentials, but let’s not be pushed where we do not want to go. Strategize, organize, and manifest. But use will power with compassion and empathy. Keep the long game in mind and sidestep unnecessary tension. It may be necessary to hear other peoples’ discontent; we don’t need to take it on, but they need room to express and feel heard.
Mars conjunct Pluto 5:22 AM, Moon opposed Saturn 5:39 AM, Moon trine Mercury 7:58 PM, Moon sex tile Uranus 8:49 PM.
Thursday, October 20: Look for change of minds, change of scene, change of mood as Mercury opposes Uranus. This unsettled nervy day can make us feel insecure or uncertain as the Cancer Moon calls for more protective circumstances. Adjust in ways that are not defensive, but are protective of soul and hearth.
Mercury opposed Uranus 1:48 AM, Moon trine Sun 5:16 AM, Moon enters Cancer 9:28 AM.
