Spring begins with tender shoots and tough lightning bolts on March 20, at 5:28 am MDT. The Sun enters brash, forthright Aries, though we felt it coming earlier this year as Venus, Mars and Mercury preceded the Sun in to Aries and gave us a taste of the season to come. Tulips peek through last year’s leaves and loan us their bravery, tornadoes and march winds remind us that spring is as tumultuous as it is tender.
But this Friday we still feel the tired tag end of winter as the Sun in Pisces squares serious Saturn and calls us to task. Life’s responsibilities can chafe at us, papers and bills come due, chores demand attention. Insecurities can tap dance on our control issues and stimulate us to rebel, push ourselves, or to sulk, depending on our response. Instead of bucking authority it is good for us to claim our own.
But the weekend opens up once we get our ducks in a row. An outgoing up-beat, and outspoken Sagittarius Moon shifts the mood and Mercury conjuncts Venus in Aries. We love to share our ideas and can bond over saying outrageous things, which can be perfect for St Patrick’s parades or to bring the snakes back. Let a desire for fresh news, fresh territory, and a clean garden inspire action. Just notice that people may, in their enthusiasm, not be particularly careful of each other’s tender feelings.
We begin the new week with a charge; the Sun enters proactive Aries on Monday as the Moon enters determined Capricorn, and the spring revolution kicks in, however we want to define it. Politics, both national and interpersonal, moves onto the front burner this week. The courage to begin again, no matter how tough the winder, is the medicine of spring, so the stars ask us where do we need to start over? We have access to the determination and ability to make a good start. Let’s ramp up and get as far as we can before Mercury retrogrades ion April 9th and sends us back to review.
The week ends under a more extroverted and sociable, if still political, Aquarius Moon. Mercury squares Pluto and inspires debates and tussles for power as we become aware of what is at risk, what we might lose. Rhetoric intensifies, and so do our thoughts: we can see things in black and white instead of a more honest shading. If a person feels cornered, they can become truly active and storm the bastille, or get depressed if it’s a smaller, more personal corner. But we can pour this intensity into anything we do. Any sign of progress will improve the mood.
Friday, March 17: prickly and emotional, people feel under pressure as responsibilities become due and can get grim. Let’s support one another’s work and stay out of the way when someone’s on a roll. An effort to crack down or impose disciple is a response to stress, but won’t be effective. Whereas organization furthers, and joy is checking things of the list. This evening people can relax and laugh about it all, but may get wild as the Moon enters Sagittarius.
Sun square Saturn 3:47 PM, Moon trine son 3:56 PM, Moon enters Sagittarius 8:59 PM.
Saturday, March 18: Mercury conjuncts Venus today and we can be glib, flirtatious; notice a whiff of spring fever in the air. But also we can go deeper and become impassioned and charismatic. What we won’t feel like is patient. Run into old friends, but don’t get caught up in old patterns, pick up an old oar projects and see it with fresh eyes, and talk about social justice, what is fair and beautiful, and what we are willing to do for this.
Mercury conjunct Venus 6:26 AM, Moon trine Venus 2:58 PM, Moon trine Mercury 5:05 PM, Moon square Neptune 9:56 PM.
Sunday, March 19: Today continues yesterday’s momentum, with a chance to expand our network this afternoon as the Moon sextiles Jupiter. Give people undemanding space through an irritated or over extended patch around dinner time, and look for positive changes this evening.
Moon sextile Jupiter 2:35 PM, Moon trine Uranus 7:32 PM.
Monday, March 20: Now we’re cooking. The Sun enters pro-active Aries on this the vernal equinox, the first day of spring and the Moon enters competent, controlling Capricorn, we have efficiency to follow through what we begin, if we can get the energetic elements together, otherwise we can rebel against ourselves, or try to control the uncontrollable, and loose our momentum in tension.
Sun enters Aries 4:28 AM, Moon conjunct’s Saturn 4:37 AM, Moon enters Capricorn 9:30 AM, Moon square Sun 9:58 AM.
Tuesday, March 21: Follow through what was just begun. Run through the momentum from yesterday and make it so this morning as the Moon trines Mars. Keep dogs and children busy, give cynics a job, as we can get in trouble if bored or unengaged.
Moon square Venus 12:32 AM, Moon trine Mars 1:42 AM, Moon sextile Neptune 10:16 AM, Moon square Mercury 4:19 PM, Moon conjunct Pluto 11:32 PM.
Wednesday, March 22: Look for some interesting karmic interactions may not make sense in the short term, but tweak our soul’s work as the Sun and Mercury aspects the Moon’s Nodes. Pay attention to political statements made this week and deeply consider the long-term ramifications. Tonight, the mood grows more cooperative if as stubborn; we may be able to perceive more options as the Moon enters Aquarius.
Moon square Jupiter 1:44 AM, Moon square Uranus 7:19 AM, Moon enters Aquarius 8:28 PM.
Thursday, March 23: Concerns crowd the horizon, but are we catastrophizing, or is there really something to worry about as Mercury squares Pluto. In this urgency, we may try to convince or manipulate others, but that will tend to backfire; look for the content under the fog, the fire underneath the smoke, and prioritize. Fixate constructively.
Moon sextile Sun 1:57 AM, Moon sex tiles Venus 8:06 AM, Moon square Mars 3:19 PM, Moon square Pluto 6:44 PM.

Use this week to prepare for the vibrant spring ahead. Let’s clean our flowerbeds and rake the yard, rake our emotional issues and political secrets out of the corners and send them to the compost. Clear the ground, study, restock, complete work of the mind, body, and soul.
If we’re honest with ourselves, we probably know what we need to do this coming season, if not exactly how or where. The recent Uranus-Mars aspects and eclipse series did its best to shake us loose, wake us up, and let us know what we need to deal with the next.
Though this will probably be a busy week, we may feel that end of winter, Sun in Pisces, low energy, so let’s pace ourselves. Energizing Mars has just moved into steady Taurus which gives us more physical endurance than enthusiasm. Even though Venus retrograde in Aries keeps our hearts volatile we still need time to replenish in the dream world and let our psyches integrate all that’s been going on.
The Moon enters industrious Virgo for the weekend and reminds us to get our work done. Mental Mercury squares serious Saturn this weekend and lets our mind perseverate and worry a pattern which is compounded by a full Moon in introspective, edgy Virgo. Turn this mental activity towards learning, studying, solving a problem, or reading a complicated book to keep it from degenerating into anxiety. Use those mental muscles in a good way so they don’t just spin in circles.
When Mercury enters brash Aries on Monday a we’ll jump to conclusion more easily and grow more verbally impetuous, tweet first and think later. While this trait can be fun at the beginning of the week under a sociable generous Moon in Libra, on Wednesday the Moon enters more irascible, less charitable Scorpio and opposes Mars, and that lack of impulse control can sharpen spears. We can choose to be incisive, not mean.
Which takes us back to our gardening metaphor for advice on this last full week before spring begins. We need to stir the compost, clear the ground, and prepare, but we don’t need to blow up the garden. It is also important to see what is already growing in our life’s garden, from the seeds and bulbs already planted. Don’t just worry about the crops or fuss at unexpected vines strangling your tree, get on with the work at hand. Weed those problems and fertilize the healthy growth to be busy and nourished in this complicated year ahead.
Friday, March 10: Feel the pull to over-dramatize just to express what we feel this morning; acknowledge conflicting feelings without the soap opera. Midday, look for successful meetings that promote dynamic change as the Moon forms a grand trine with Uranus and Saturn. Our energy begins to flag and our thoughts grow more serious as the Moon enters Virgo around 3 PM, we can get persnickety if we’re feeling overextended or worried, but a great conversation that lets us analyze and process will bring us back alive.
Moon trine Uranus 1:41 AM, Moon trine Saturn 10:05 AM, Moon enters Virgo 3:07 PM, Moon trine Mars 4:21 PM.
Saturday, March 11: The mood winds up and can leave us feeling overwhelmed by all the details as our minds try to encompass too many different threads, or while imagine worse case scenarios while the Virgo Moon opposes Neptune. And if we go there, we can take it out on one another as a way of dispersing anxiety. Or we can choose to drop beneath this mental static and open our empathy and compassion for one another, learn a new concept or take on one project at a time and feel like we’re getting somewhere. It’s up to us which side of this Virgo nerviness we exercise.
Moon opposed Neptune 1:07 PM.
Sunday, March 12: Our minds and guts can bunch up in a knot unless we give them something worthy to chew upon as Mercury squares Saturn under the Full Moon in Virgo. But if we do, the internal wheels can grind efficiently, and we begin to put pieces together to grow our understanding. Transportation delays can add to a low-level frustration, so keep the schedule loose, and keep one another informed. We take communication seriously, as a culture we may be holding the press accountable and investigating all forms of information exchange. We have access to strategic thinking but can get cranky if we’re overtired. Late evening smooths out as the Moon enters Libra.
Moon trine Pluto 1:56 AM, Mercury square Saturn 6:09 AM, Moon opposed son 8:53 AM, Moon square Saturn 6:24 PM, Moon opposed Mercury 8:36 PM, Moon enters Libra 11:28 PM.
Monday, March 13: It can be a relief to get back to work this morning after a complicated weekend People need a little tender loving care and reassurance; do not tap dance on their insecurities. Our minds speed up and the filters may come off our conversation as Mercury enters Aries and injects cosmic caffeine later in the day. If we feel a longing, let’s ask what do they symbolize life and how much we want that within us in our hearts. Rather than become demanding tonight, let’s ask what our longing symbolize.
Mercury enters Aries 3:07 PM, Moon opposes Venus 8:41 PM
Tuesday, March 14: Relationships come to the forefront, some event can trigger our realization of who’s precious and who’s full of it, which allows us to sort and process. Though we may feel someone that we need someone more than we actually do. Look for an opportunity to open up this afternoon as the Moon conjunct Jupiter, watch this conjunction rise as the Sun sets and let it soothe the heart.
Moon square Pluto 11:51 AM, Moon conjunct Jupiter 3:51 PM, Moon opposed Uranus 7:04 PM.
Wednesday, March 15: It will stabilize us to focus on logistics this pragmatically efficient but emotionally stormy day as the Moon enters serious Scorpio this morning and opposes volatile Mars this afternoon. That outspoken Mercury in Aries can grow claws, and anything we say can come out sharper than we intend. Our impulse control is down, our verbal filter is thin, but we can concentrate or obsess. Investigate, write invective, write political commentary, advocate for what’s needed, but consider avoiding crowded intersections and emotionally demanding situations. Walk away from unnecessary confrontations.
Moon sextile Saturn 4:05 AM, Moon enters Scorpio 9:10 AM, Moon opposed Mars 5:37 PM.
Thursday, March 16: Let’s pace ourselves and restore physical reserves that have been recently burnt up. Our energy can swirl inwards even though our mind is racing ahead. If people are guarded, prickly, don’t take it personally. We need our shields while our intuition is so strong: listen in subtle ways to the body, to beloveds. Listen to sudden hunches about work, and follow up with fact-finding.

The planets suggest this can be a generally productive week if we don’t get distracted by our easily inflamed emotions. But that can be a challenge, on one side we may feel thin-skinned, painfully aware of our sensitivities and vulnerabilities as Mercury approaches intuitive, permeable Neptune in sensitive Pisces, yet pulled to act, energized and easily ticked-off with emotional Venus and Mars near electrifying Uranus in forthright and flammable Aries.
Venus symbolizes what we value, what we care about enough to be a resource to us, but also enough to really push our buttons, and she retrogrades, or appears to head backwards, this weekend, within a few degrees a square to intense Pluto. She reminds us about what we hold dear, what we’ve lost and can lose, and what is missing in our life.
Venus retrograde is also known for exposing scandalous material and provoking outrage, so let’s keep our eyes open. Although the present Aries line-up can make our own reality so loud it’s hard to hear others, the Mercury-Sun-Neptune conjunction leaves us unusually empathic and as easily outraged about what happens with others as we are about what happens to ourselves. If we’re in outrage-burnout, we need to stay alert and pace ourselves through the next few months while the planets keep emotions simmering.
The Neptune-Mercury-Sun conjunction can leaves feeling flooded, either by melting snows or waves of emotions, throughout this weekend. But communication can be our saving grace under a verbal Gemini Moon, we need to keep those lines of communication open and humming.
A stabilizing, competent Mars-Saturn trine early next week can help us step out of distraction and into efficiency even as a self-protective Cancer Moon brings out a wariness of other people’s expectations and motives.
Towards the end of the week a Leo Moon amps up the dramatic narrative again, the news stories can seem so over the top. Some hidden secrets come to light and decisions clarify as the Sun and Mercury sextile Pluto and help us cut through some bogus perception. We’ll have a more realistic view of what’s going on, and make plans accordingly.
Friday, March 3: Our resolve can firm up this morning in the face of new information or input as the steady Taurus Moon trines Pluto. We may feel stronger than we have for the last few weeks, and our hungers can sharpen; we know what we want, but can be shocked by what others will do for their desires. Stubbornness increases where we feel pushed, but people respond well to general helpfulness and an honest statement of needs.
Moon trine Pluto 8:20 AM.
Saturday, March 4: The mood is nervy and easily distracted as the Moon enters verbal Gemini this morning. Look for outrageous comments. Let’s mind our words, although it is important to keep the conversation going, it’s easy to say too much yet feel misunderstood. Relationships can stumble unless we perceive with our hearts and souls as well as our minds while Mercury conjuncts Neptune. We may long for magic, for an escapist fantasy or good movie; or we could get lost in our imagination. A healthy, safe break from mundane reality can do us a world of good.
Venus retrograde 2:08 AM, Moon enters Gemini 3:05 AM, Mercury conjunct Neptune 4:09 AM, Moon square Neptune 11:01 PM.
Sunday, March 5: Morning can leave us nervy and unrested as the Gemini Moon squares the Sun and Mercury, people are willing to talk but prone to gossip. Afternoon offers us more control and focus as Mars trines Saturn and inspires us to accomplish and build. A delay may prove fortunate or give us a chance to take a more careful and complete approach. Our brains may rattle around tonight, begging for something to distract from worry and give us a chance to rest.
Moon sextile Venus 1:13 AM, Moon square Mercury 1:50 AM, Moon square Sun 4:32 AM, Mars trine Saturn 1:45 PM, Moon trine Jupiter 4:12 PM, Moon sextile Uranus for 40 9 PM.
Monday, March 6: We start off with good intentions as the Moon opposes Saturn and sextiles Mars but soon may move into a more defensive stance. Don’t push people out of their comfort zone; offer reassurance but don’t let them get away with being offensive in the name of self-protection. Find agreed upon tasks and push them forward now.
Moon opposed Saturn 12:48 AM, Moon sextile Mars 1:21 AM, Moon enters Cancer 5:54 AM.
Tuesday, March 7: Both unusual support and special challenges create crosscurrents and can whip us around as the Moon forms 7 major aspects; stay on target and keep priorities clear. Take advantage of passing opportunities and don’t take personally the difficult flotsam and occasionally abrasive attitudes. Mental Mercury sextiles deep Pluto and can help us focus or obsess and makes us nosy, but we must sort gossip from real crime.
Moon trine Neptune 2:19 AM, Moon square Venus 4:07 AM, Moon trine son 11:47 AM., Moon trine Mercury 1:12 PM, Moon opposed Pluto 2:28 PM, Moon square Jupiter 7:24 PM, Moon square Uranus 8:33 PM, Mercury sextile Pluto 10:24 PM,
Wednesday, March 8: Our thinking may be sharp, edgy this morning, it may be important to hold people accountable for their actions, but not waste time faultfinding, a subtle but important difference. The general mood grows more sociable, generous, though reactive and impatient as the Moon enters Leo midday. Let’s be careful what behavior we reward with attention, as some people think they need it right now, can get truly difficult to get it.
Moon square Mars 7:59 AM, Moon conjunct enters Leo 9:45 AM.
Thursday, March 9: Shine for all sentient beings as the Sun sextiles Pluto under a Leo moon. The cultural narcissistic wounding is showing, but a healthy reframe encourages us to share our talents with generosity and integrity. Mars leaves feisty Aries and enters earthy Taurus, which can slow down the fireworks and add fresh resilience and resistance

Hang on, we’re in for a bumpy ride. We have two apparently conflicting energy streams tugging us in different directions, and it’s up to us to ride these currents with grace; as the Sun conjuncts intuitive Neptune blurs the edge of reality and takes us into a soft imaginary world just as activating Mars conjuncts electrifying Uranus and turns up the engine of discontent.
As the Sun conjuncts Neptune in sensitive Pisces it calls us into our spirit and our imaginary worlds. We can be sensitive, intuitive, and hungry for spiritual practice, but can also get easily lost in our imagination and alternative facts. Our hopes and our fears, our dreams and our discouragements can warp our perception of what’s really going on. We can drift into a dream then be jolted back to reality.
In a quiet, creative or romantic moment, that Sun-Neptune conjunction can be magical. But the world sizzles and pops this week as activating Mars conjuncts electrical Uranus in feisty Aries and both opposed expansive Jupiter. Our engines are reved-up and we can careen off down the road without a clear picture of what’s actually going on. That Mars-Uranus conjunction wants to get the party started, the mood it imparts is proactive and highly competitive. Tempers erupt as if we’re sitting on a geyser. All while we can’t quite see what’s going on.
Mars conjunct Uranus can bring both flashes of genius or accidental conditions. That Neptune-Sun conjunction can bring soggy conditions. Watch out around electrical equipment, floods, fogs, and look twice before merging at an intersection. Give people room to vent if they need it, and we all will once in a while, but let’s confirm our data before really going off on a rant.
Because Mars and Venus in Aries do turn up the volume on our desires, they can help us understand what we truly want. But it may not be our most mature self speaking, and we may not be thinking particularly realistically. So even though we need to think twice before leaving a steady job to pursue a dream as trapeze artist, let’s listen to any clamoring inner calls and see if there is a way to honor the need for something more intense, free, and passionate within the healthy confines of a stable life.
On Friday it furthers to think about the big picture; schedule meetings and sketch out the plans for the next few weeks while Mercury and the Moon are in collaborative Aquarius. Tears flow easily as the Moon and Mercury enter more personal, emotional Pisces on Saturday. We can feel flooded and sensitive even as we feel pushed to get out and get things done. Emotional material can pour through us this weekend, water can flow out of bounds as the Moon and Mercury enter more personal, sensitive Pisces. Let those feelings flow and realize they speak of an emotional truth, but maybe not cold hard fact. Everybody could use a little sympathy.
On Tuesday, a feisty Aries Moon amps up the action. The change producing Jupiter-Uranus opposition peaks on Thursday and can catalyze sudden liberating events and technological innovation. We can be more prone to breaking than building, but what we begin now will have power.
if we need to make a change to our website or change in our lives, this momentum will support us. Let’s support one another’s soul expansion in the process. It’s probably better not to buy technological equipment this week, because electrics may be temperamental, but if we need to make a change to our website or change in our lives, this momentum will support us. Instigate. We can seed changes now that will bring more stability in the future.
Friday, February 24: We may feel an urgent need to do something, anything, but could get lost, talk with strangers, find ourselves wandering or distracted and beat ourselves up for not getting enough done. But those social interactions may be just the medicine needed, and the contacts we nurture now may be important later. Connections networked, decisions made, and meetings held now will be important in the weeks ahead. Physical action furthers, so let off steam in positive ways.
Moon sextile Venus 8:40 AM.
Saturday, February 25: We can spin around in our personal life and feel an emotional neediness or urgency, but may have trouble pinpointing the source or cure. Feelings well up and water damage is possible this evening, so stay alert for flooding conditions, inebriated drivers or other compromised people in decision-making positions. Enjoy an otherworldly quality, but keep track of logistics and traffic carefully.
Moon sextile Mars 12:46 AM, Moon sextile Uranus 2:52 AM, Moon trine Jupiter 4:01 AM, Moon sextile Saturn 11:11 AM, Mercury enters Pisces 4:07 PM, Moon enters Pisces 5:24 PM, Moon conjunct’s Mercury 5:35 PM.
Sunday, February 26: We can be an emotional bowl of mush today as a new Moon/Solar eclipse in Pisces at 7:58 AM seen in the extreme southern hemisphere, marks an emotional turning point. Let those feelings well up and spill out but don’t attach to the stories. Listen for some deep internal decision to end a phase that felt victimized or underutilized and feel propelled towards a more effective stance in the future as Mars conjunct Uranus tonight. But be wise about those decisions, and questions any sudden, last minute effort to lash out that might, in the end, shoot the perpetrator in the foot. Keep eyes open for shocking news or actions, and move wisely and smoothly towards a healthier more compassionate future.
Solar eclipse/new Moon 7:58 AM. Moon conjunct Neptune 1:55 PM, Mars conjunct Uranus 5:19 PM.
Monday, February 27: Last night’s explosive, motivating Mars-Uranus conjunction opposes Jupiter this morning and turns up the heat. Strong conflicting feelings can leave us stirred up, we want to be braver than we feel. We need to tell others how we feel with an honest, open heart. The mood grows more competitive, if passive-aggressive, but also compassionate, brave, sensitive and impatiently irritable. Put in a competitive bid, run for office, start a novel, declare love, or compete against one’s personal best. The heat escalates tonight as the Moon enters Aries.
Moon sextile Pluto 2:25 AM, Mars opposed Jupiter 7:24 AM, Moon square Saturn 4:07 PM, Moon enters Aries 9:51 PM.
Tuesday, February 28: The river of feelings continue to pour through as the Moon conjunct Venus in Aries. We may be highly reactive, but can combust in the best of ways, for love, for compassionate action, or for creative process. But it may feel absolutely impossible to do boring or repetitive work. Trying to stick to routine chores may feel like to be trying to give a cat a bath. The world temperament runs hot and reactive, with wild acts of bravery and strong loves and hates.
Moon conjunct Venus 7:54 PM.
Wednesday, March 1: The world feels illusory, mythic as the Sun conjuncts Neptune. It furthers to immerse ourselves in a long hot bath, dream world, imagination, spiritual practice. Let’s just know that objective that will be hard to find, alternative backs will be thick on the ground but our intuitive perceptions can pick up a truth, though it may be hard for us to interpret clearly. It furthers one to merge with spirit, to hug beloveds, to choose a puppy.
Moon square Pluto 5:49 AM, Moon conjunct Uranus 11:27 AM, Moon opposed Jupiter 11:42 AM, Moon conjunct Mars 2:48 PM, Moon trine Saturn 7:18 PM, Sun conjunct Neptune 7:43 PM.
Thursday, March 2: The Moon enters earthy Taurus and begins to settle us down, we can get back to the concrete work at hand, but still want to feel we are part of the big picture, connected to the great movements of our time. We feel a call to pragmatic liberation. Jupiter opposes Uranus and stimulates a freedom-loving ingenuity that inspires political action and technological innovation, but it may take us months for us to see the results.
Moon enters Taurus 12:42 AM, Moon sextile Mercury 3:47 PM, Jupiter opposed Uranus 6:15 PM, Moon sextile Neptune 8:26 PM, Moon sextile Sun 10:13 PM.
